Opening the Gate to Retro Sci-Fi: Our First “Fake Trailer” Is Here!
At Fugazy Films, we love asking “what if?” — and today, we’re thrilled to launch a brand-new series that brings that question to life.
Our first entry into the Fake Trailers niche reimagines the cult classic Stargate (1994) as if it were made during the golden age of cinema. Picture this: 1950’s Super Panavision 70, matte-painted alien worlds, swirling practical FX wormholes, and a voluptuous pin-up heroine stepping straight out of a pulp novel. Sound wild? It is.

This project was powered by cutting-edge tools like LTX Studio, Midjourney, Veo3, and Elevenlabs, all used to faithfully recreate the aesthetic of mid-century sci-fi — down to the dramatic voiceover, grainy Technicolor look, and vintage fashion.
But this is just the beginning.
The “Fake Trailers” series will explore alternate cinematic timelines, where modern films are reimagined through retro lenses: grindhouse horror, 1940s noir, 1980s VHS cheese, and more. Think Lord of the Rings as a 70s Italian sword-and-sandals flick. Or Jurassic Park as a 1950s atomic-era creature feature. The possibilities are endless — and Fugazy.

Because at Fugazy Films… the future is fake — and that’s just how we like it.
